Tuesday, 31 January 2012: Altius Mining Limited (ASX:AYM) is pleased to announce the results from its RC percussion drilling programme at its Ropewalk gold deposit in ML 3417, near Forsayth, in North Queensland. These results relate to drill samples taken as part of the present stage of the drilling programme that has now been completed (announced to the market on 8 December 2011).

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
- 16 holes drilled totalling 698 metres (refer Table 1)
- Drilling intersected chlorite-biotite schist with west-northwest striking and near vertical zones of quartz veins and gold mineralisation (refer Table 2)
- Variations between the original and repeated assays of most samples indicate that the gold is generally coarse grained.

Commenting on the positive assay results received in relation to the current drilling programme at its Ropewalk gold mine, Altius Mining’s Managing Director, Alexander King, said “We are pleased with the initial drilling results at our Ropewalk gold mine. The results achieved are in line with our expectations at the time of the Company’s IPO.”
“Altius Mining is now looking forward to completing further drilling to unlock the potential of its Ropewalk gold mine. With a strong balance sheet and no debt, Altius Mining is well placed to fund its current drilling programme and successfully progress the Company’s growth strategy. We remain on track for the Company’s first gold pour during the first half of this year,” added Mr King.

The better intersections from the drilling results include: 9 metres of 2.76 g/t gold in Hole RWRC 91; 2 metres of 10.31 g/t gold in Hole RWC 92; 12 metres of 4.97 g/t gold in Hole RWRC 93; 5 metres of 3.96 g/t gold in Hole RWRC 93; and 5 metres of 3.96 g/t gold in Hole RWRC 103.

Altius Mining remains in a strong financial position with cash reserves that will enable the Company to complete its forward work programme.

The Company is expecting to announce the commencement of further drilling at its Ropewalk, Just-In-Time and nearby gold deposits, in the near future.

Altius Mining has drilled 16 of the proposed 17 holes at its Ropewalk deposit, for a total of approximately 700 metres of drilling over the past eight days. One hole was not drilled because of poor site access and four holes remain to be drilled in the New Year at the nearby Just-in-Time deposit.

Altius Mining expects to receive the results for the gold assays of its drilling samples from the Ropewalk deposit in the next few weeks subject to timing over the Christmas-New Year period, and will announce the full results of the Ropewalk deposit’s drilling programme when the gold assays are available.

Monday, 5 December 2011: Altius Mining Limited (ASX:AYM) is pleased to announce the commencement of three new airborne geophysical surveys, as part of its comprehensive strategy for the exploration of its tenements in New South Wales and Queensland. This strategy involves the systematic application to each of the Company’s 13 licences and permit of:

- A thorough review of all past mining and exploration

- A new airborne high-resolution magnetic and radiometric survey

- The interpretation and modelling of anomalies of the newly acquired geophysical data

- The ground investigation of all prospects and areas identified by the review and the geophysical interpretation

- The drill testing of targets identified as potentially economic mineral deposits

On 6 December, geophysical contractor Thomson Aviation Pty. Ltd. will commence the survey of Altius Mining’s EL 7051, Honeybugle, which has the potential for the discovery of platinum, nickel and cobalt deposits associated with ultramafic intrusions and in laterite. This will be followed by the survey of the Company’s EL, Yarran, which has potential for platinum, nickel and cobalt deposits associated with ultramafic intrusions. The third survey will be of the Company’s EL 7036, Gowulma, which has the potential for porphyry-style copper and gold deposits.

After the completion of the three new surveys, the Company’s consultant geophysicists will interpret the data.

Previous to these new surveys, Altius Mining has made airborne high-resolution surveys of its ELs 7045, 7046, 7155, 7159, 7173, 7195, 7332 and 7423 in New South Wales and EPM 14498 in Queensland. Geophysical interpretation is complete or commenced on ELs 7045, 7046, 7159, 7332 and 7423 and EPM 14498. Ground investigation has commenced on EL 7046 and EPM 14998. The Company proposes to announce drilling targets when drill testing is about to commence.
